The first tournament of the year was a nasty & cold weather day. We were able to get the round in but it was not ideal for golf. I thought the greens were fast but smooth. In MAGA we are to putt all strokes until the ball reaches the bottom of hole. Also no one is to pick up and take a number because you are hacking on the hole. Because we are given net points you must finish the hole or take an X and not a score for just handicap purposes.

The deadline for entry into tournaments is 10 days prior to the date of play. That means if mailing entries it sometimes takes 7 to 10 days to get to the post office. So get them in early. If you don’t want to mail they can be dropped off at my home address.

The next tournaments will be held at Shaker Run on Saturday & Yankee Trace on Sunday. The entry fee is $79 for Saturday and $69 for Sunday. Side games are not included.

The format is a 3 man single best ball on par 5’s, double best ball on par 4’s and triple best ball on par 3’s. A blind draw will be held after golf to determine teams. You can pick your own foursome to play with on Saturday. Sunday will be a 2 man stapleford scoring on both balls. Sign up as a twosome. The date is May 16^th and May 17^th . The entries are due by May 6^th .Tee times start around 8:00 on Saturday and 12:00 on Sunday.

After May the following tournaments are scheduled:

Make sure you post your MAGA scores in your ghin handicap after our tournaments. I will randomly check to see if scores were entered.

For the people who have trouble getting their entry in on time, you need to make sure it gets in the mail ahead of time to be received by Wednesday so I can get the entries before Thursday. Because of slow mail now remember to mail your entries in early. Allow at least 7 to 10 days before due date.
