Our Old House

George R. Doty house. It sits on Carolina Street in Middletown. It was built in 1824. I believe it was built by his father Joseph Doty. Joseph was a son of Daniel Doty and Elizabeth Crane. G.R. Doty was a grandson and is my 3rd great grandfather. My 2nd great grandmother, Mary (Doty) Stoutenborough grew up here. Her brother Homer Doty died of blood poisoning due to an injury as he was chopping down a tree there. He swung the axe missed the tree and struck his leg.
